NHL bets: A pair of prop parlays for Friday's action

As we head into a Friday set of games in the NHL playoffs, I could see these games tightening up in a hurry. Florida and Boston have both taken turns scoring a ton of goals, and these goalies are just too good to let that continue happening. Then, Edmonton and Vancouver scored nine goals on just 42 shots, a pace and ratio I don't love to see.

I could be way off, but it's enough for me to take this slate a bit light as it relates to goal scoring. Instead, we turn to our expectation of shots, both on goal, and having them blocked.

Charlie McAvoy & Elias Lindholm over 1.5 SOG (+165 DraftKings)

Charlie McAvoy is admittedly a name that might surprise you, considering he thus far has no shots on goal this series. I do think Boston should find a bit more SOGs at home tonight than they have in Florida, and something about McAvoy playing the Panthers in Boston has seemed to result in more shooting.

McAvoy's last four home games against Florida have yielded seven, four, one and five shots on goal, and that includes two home playoff games where he piled up 11 SOGs. He had 7+ attempts in each of those three games where he went over this line, and he has 6+ attempts in two of his past three in Boston.

Florida is allowing the second-most shots per game to defensemen among the teams remaining in the playoff field, so I'm taking a shot on McAvoy piling up some here.

I'll pair him with probably my favorite prop leg of the evening: Vancouver's Elias Lindholm. Lindholm finished Game 1 with five shots on goal, his second straight game hitting that total.

Lindholm now has 2+ shots in three straight games, and he sure loves hitting this number against the Oilers. He now has gone over 1.5 SOG in 15 of his past 16 vs. Edmonton, averaging 3.1 shots on goal.

Bonus: I had an expiring bonus bet on DraftKings, so I went aggressive and put that on McAvoy and Lindholm each ending with 4+ shots at +3350, if you're into that sort of thing.

Hampus Lindholm & Tyler Myers over 1.5 blocked shots (+171 ESPN BET)

Based on my belief that we start to see a more physical series, going back to the blocked shots market makes a ton of sense.

Boston's Hampus Lindholm has eight blocks in two games this series, and Florida is always going to be ripping shots no matter their location. The Bruins should be getting in front of as much as they can to help Jeremy Swayman after his rough Game 2 showing.

Then we have Tyler Myers, who curiously finished Game 1 with 0 blocks, the first time this postseason he failed to cover his blocks prop. The big defenseman should be due for a bounce-back effort, especially facing an Edmonton team that is well-motivated to even this series and should be upping their shot intensity a bit.
